About this blog

This blog celebrates the achievements, heritage, past, and future of Western civilization. It takes its title from a line in “Horatius at the Bridge,” an epic poem by Thomas Macaulay: “And how can man die better than facing fearful odds, For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his gods?”

  1. It is nice to find a place where is tried to look at the achievements, heritage and past of this part of the world and to try to get a glimpse of the future, but even more important how to make sure those of the present and future will not destroy that what was build up in the previous centuries, with sweat and tears.
